Trust & safety
How payment works on Lend a Hand
Lend a Hand is an introductions platform. We help neighbours find each other for everyday tasks, but we are not a party to any job. Posters pay helpers directly — usually in cash or by bank transfer — and the price is agreed between the two of you. We never hold, process, or take a cut of job payments. The only thing we charge for is the helper's monthly subscription for job offer tokens.
Direct payment
Cash or bank transfer between you — we never touch it.
No platform cut
100% of the agreed price goes to your helper.
Subscription only
We only charge helpers for monthly offer tokens.
Staying safe
Agree the price before the job starts — in writing where possible.
Never send money before meeting your helper or agreeing the job.
Prefer bank transfer with a clear reference, or pay in cash once the job is done.
Keep a record (message, receipt or transfer note) of what was paid.
Report any payment issue to us — we can't recover funds, but we can act on your trust signals.
If something goes wrong
Because Lend a Hand doesn't hold funds, we can't recover money or process refunds. You can still report payment issues — we'll factor them into trust signals and may remove members who repeatedly fail to pay or deliver.
